Our favorite flying, crawling, and jumping bugs have been made into this awesome set of discs that can be used in a variety of ways.  Available in a set of 14 or 28.

These colorfully printed discs with realistic images are a versatile learning tool to assist children with discovering and identifying these creatures in their very own backyards!

Set 14 is randomly selected.

Dimensions: approx. 7 x 6cm

Made using 3mm plywood, this is an Australian Made and Owned product.

Every piece of wood used is slightly different in color, texture, and grain. The naturally occurring imperfections seen in the timber (e.g knots, color changes, etc) cannot be removed. These pieces of timber are cut on an engraver and will have slight burn marks on the edges on some sides

Recommended for children age 3 years old+

Educational Applications:

Individual

Set up magnetic boards for children to design and create. Get the child to see what surfaces they stick to around their environment and discuss each Bug when it is used. separate into large, small, flying, swimming, groups, encouraging further knowledge of each bug, as well as understanding eating habits and habitats.

Group Setting

Talk to the children about what bug they are holding, what colors on the disc. Hide each disc around the room giving clues as to what bug it might be, helping them to learn through play.

Outdoors

Take outdoors to see what surfaces they stick to, turn it into a science experiment! Make it into a physical experience by having the children reenact each bug they find.

Learning Opportunities

Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. As the child puts magnets on various surfaces they are learning about spatial awareness. Language skills, cognitive and problem solving, maybe the magnet is too heavy? maybe the surface is not metal? The magnetic play also encourages creativity.
